Carol Wright Gifts Enrolled Me In A $14.95 A Month Plan That I Didn't Even Know About!

I had bought a nice winter robe from Carol Wright Gifts and in June I bought only one top for about $13, I never was told or asked about signing up for any membership for any fee, but my father just called me and told me that I was being charged $14.95 a month for a membership that I never even knew about and never signed up for! On the Better Business Bureau's site there are other complaints from customers of Carol Wright Gifts that said they did the same thing to them, and I will never give them any of my business again and they really should be out of business for scamming and ripping people off like this!

I called and spoke to a Carol Wright customer service agent today who told me that when I bought my top I was automatically enrolled in this $14.95 a month plan, and I kept telling her that I never even knew about it and I didn't enroll in it at all!

She claimed after my father called and asked for this to be canceled and to get a refund, (will see what happens) that they are giving me a refund and canceled my membership fee that I never of course even signed up for or even knew about.

Scammers

My bank (TCF) closed last March. The payment I sent carol wright in march has apparently disappeared along with my bank. I have continued to make my payments from my new banks checking account but they keep insisting on an additional payment. I've been buying from them for years, making all my payments no problem but they don't care it could be a closed bank causing the problem. I'm always polite. I tried to explain this to customer services politely and she just hung up on me.

SCAM!

In April I purchased some flower pots for my elderly mother. The items arrived as expected. What was not expected was being signed up for "Carol Wright Perks" for $14.95 per month.

They sign people up for this and say that they email a confirmation. I could find no such confirmation. I could not get into my account. Their "forgot password" button does not seem to work. The person on their online chat could not address this and had a canned response for complaints. This response shows that they are used to complaint about the Perks charges.

Again, this is a scam. A little monthly bill that they hope goes unnoticed.

NEVER AGAIN.

Ordered two weeks ago, no tracking number yet! Called customer service, spoke to a woman who was snarky, and giggled, joking in background with someone... clearly wasn't interested in the job she was supposed to be doing. If I ever get the items I ordered, I will never be shopping with Carol wright again. How any company sustains itself doing this kind of "business", i can't imagine, perhaps they're in it to cause misery? As ridiculous as that sounds, its in keeping with the experience I've had. Shame on you Carol wright, GET RIGHT!❌💩❌

Terrible customer service and…

Terrible customer service and questionable practices!!!! My Mom was placing an order over the phone and kept receiving incorrect amounts (being told something was full price when she was seeing it online with a sales price) from the representative. The representative kept giving her different totals and my Mom would correct her. She gave my Mom a confirmation number before giving her a final total at which time my Mom told her the total was too high and the representative told her she would try to take care of it and the call was suddenly "dropped". My Mom called back but was told because she received a confirmation number there was nothing that could be done because the order was being put together (Seriosly, 10 minutes later?) and that she needed to call Customer Service (which was closed). It's not the first negative encounter with Carol Wright but will be the LAST as none of our family will ever order from there again.

Stay away!

I will never purchase anything from this company again! I have always heard good things about Carol Wright. So I went on their website to check out their shoes. I decided to order 2 pairs. About an hour later I called to cancel the order being I found the exact same pairs for half the price at another company. The guy I spoke with said he couldn't cancel it because it already went to the warehouse. He said he was gonna let them know to cancel it. 2 days later, they shipped. Obviously something went wrong. I called again and was told I could send them back but they would take $10 off my refund. Never again!

3 of the items I ordered were delivered…

3 of the items I ordered were delivered in damaged condition. Albeit could be from the delivery service and not the company but too complicated to return. Unlike Amazon where you can just take it to a store and return. I'm done with CW, quality of items can't make it through the mail.

In catalog however not available

The send me a catalog about three months ago so i go to order and it says "not available" so i get another catalog here three months later with the item still listed so i think they got more in and went to order same answer "not available" if its not flippen available dont keep it listed in the catalog as an item that can be purchased! Wont even look at the catalogs again when they come the item i want "wont be available"

Shipping and handling for an order I purchased on the website

Shipping and handling for an order I placed was $10.69. I was unhappy with my purchase and called their customer service to return both items. A shipping label was email to me. Shipping to me and returned to Carol Wright was deducted from my original purchase price to the tune of $22. What a racket! I only gave Carol Wright one star, because I had no option to choose ZERO. The items I purchased were cheaply made. DO NOT BUY FROM CAROL WRIGHT (OR DR. LEONARD’S AS THE OFTEN CALL THEMSELVES)!
